Sharfuddin Ahmed Khan is an Assistant Professor in Industrial System Engineering at the University of Regina, Canada, with a tenure starting January 2022. Previously, he served at the University of Sharjah, UAE, as an Assistant Professor and Lecturer in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from September 2009 to December 2021. He completed his PhD in Industrial Engineering at the University of Quebec’s École de Technologie Supérieure in Montreal, Canada, in January 2018, following an MSc in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2006 and a Bachelor’s in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan, in 2004. With an overall experience of over 20 years, Dr. Khan’s publication record exceeds 130 journal & conference articles, books chapters, and 2 books. His professional background includes five years in the industry at BASF Chemicals and ExxonMobil, focusing on supply chain, warehouse, and inventory management. His research interests lies in supply chain management, sustainability, circular economy, performance evaluation and improvement, and multi-criteria decision-making.
Mohsin Ahmad Siddiqui is a distinguished Senior Performance Engineer specializing in thermal efficiency and process optimization within the Asset Management & Supply Planning Group at SaskPower, Canada. With nearly 15 years of experience in the Energy Sector, Mohsin has honed his expertise in thermal plant operations, process efficiency improvement, and mechanical process design. His innovative approach has led to significant enhancements in plant performance and operational efficiency. Mohsin is adept at equipment condition monitoring, including advanced vibration and oil analysis techniques, and excels in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and comprehensive Asset Management strategies. His contributions to the commissioning of carbon capture process plants are noteworthy, particularly his focus on enhancing plant efficiency and CO2 capture rates. In addition to his technical prowess, Mohsin possesses strong leadership skills and is actively involved in various social volunteering activities. He is also the president of a well-known Sports Club, where he leverages his leadership and organizational skills to foster community engagement and promote sportsmanship. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from NED University, Pakistan, and a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering (Engineering Management) from the University of Alberta, Canada
